"fans"

now let me explain, there are the true fans that will be there hours before a concert starts and hours after it finishes just to maybe get a glimpse of the band they idolize for an extra minute. they live for the day they will meet any one of the members. they will stop anything they are doing and actually listen to a song from their favorite band. even though they might prefer a certain album to another, they will still listen to the less likeable albums with equal respect because by that time they will understand all the shit that band has went through to get to wherever they are. such a band are Metallica.

i like to think i am a real Metallica fan and i will listen to any one of their songs with equal admiration and respect. they have formed the way i look at music and to a certain extent life in general. then these "fans" come along who piss the fuck out of me and because the last album didnt sound like it was "sapposed to" or it wasnt exactly how they expect it, they bitch about how it isnt all they ever wanted ... all the fucking time!

i see videos on youtube of metallica all the time and my god, if you take the time to just read through the comments, sometimes in the hundreds if not thousands, it is a constant fight between people who will respect and follow the band throughout and people who just moan about how the new album is nothing like the good old days, well news flash you retard, these ARE NOT the good old days!!

people need to realise that just because a band's sound is maturing and changing it doesnt mean they are sell-outs or that they suck now it because they cant grow up and say, "hey this is different". generally these "fans" say,"wtf is this shit ... booo ... sell-outs."

FUCK OFF!!

take your bitching little asses to the testicle store and get some. my god!

this has been a mellow moment
with the freak

True (-ish), but you need to relax. Seriously.

Good God, calm down lol.

The whole point of a new album is to attract new audiences. Fans of older albums might not like the transition. Just cos you want to be the fan of a band doesn't mean you have to force yourself to like the album and henceforth remain loyal to the band. That's what people call fanboy/girl-ism which is never a good thing. Just because you adore everything about metallica and someone else is just a casual listener doesn't mean you need to eat him alive. Respect his opinion, it seems everyone finds it hard to do.
